Well, not sure exactly where to start so this may transpire and spill forth as a bunch of jargon but the company I work for full-time (a MAJOR baby gear co.) just announced it will be moving to Atlanta, GA in July of next year. Even though news of the "impending" move has been heard over the last six months --I am shocked.
I think the thing which shocks me the most is the ability for these huge corporations to think investing in a move of over two-hundred-fifty talented and dedicated employees (some of which have been with the company over 25 years) is just a drop in the financial bucket when most of the employees have given years (I myself have given 7+) to them in order to make it what it is today.

There will be meetings this week in an effort to offer employees a "package" --why don't they just tell you--some of you are good enough to go and others aren't. What a slap in the face. I personally won't be going because after building our new house almost three years ago and raising four children (my oldest will be a sophomore next year) I can't see uprooting them and my husband (he is strongly against it) to a state far away from our families and nonetheless to a place we may not be guaranteed to stay. I was born and raised in PA and love what it has to offer--granted a warmer place in Winter would be nice, alright---when it's bitter cold out--but I would miss the scenery, the winter snow fall (oh yea---did I mention we only saw one snow storm this past winter?) and too many other things I fail to be thinking about right now.
I certainly am upset but somehow, someway things work out. Maybe this is a sign I need a change or an "opportunity" to make a change. Life always has twist and turns but I refer to them as opportunities to make a change :)

Well, I will probably be offered a chance to go but I will be turning it down...Much to the disappointment of some of my peers, my family comes first-period.
I feel better now...dumping my thoughts out. Blogging is very therapeutic.
